Human Collective II

9220 SW Barbur Blvd., Suite 107, 503-208-3042, humancollective.org. 11 am-7 pm Monday-Saturday.

Human Collective originally opened in 2010 in Washington County but was raided. It's been back for four years on Barbur, next to a UPS Store, facing I-5. Though the place is as bleak as the clientele can be—people looking for the most THC for the lowest price—it carries 85 strains, one of the largest selections in the city. The whole place feels like a Walmart for weed, with 1 gram costing only $7.50. It's crowded, but efficient, with lines for ordering, picking up and medical-only. Strains are presented in glass cases on a rotating rack like a Chuck E. Cheese's prize case and there are hundreds of glass pieces, with pipes for $11 and bongs for $17. You feel hurried from the second you enter, even though there's soft jazz playing. But if you get a chance to talk to the budtenders, the DOPE Awards named Nick Harris one of three finalists for best budtender in the state.
