This pre-industrial-inspired hideaway on busy MLK cooks
every conceivable pig part and whole fish in its big wood-fired oven,
but it also uses the hearth to roast buttery carrots and toasty potatoes
and bake flatbread to order. Not to mention the creative salads and an
almost entirely vegetarian appetizer menu. Read full review here.

DOC
Super-sexy Killingsworth Italianish restaurant DOC has an a
la carte menu, but you'd be mad to order anything but the tasting
menu—a five-course mystery meal customized to each diner's dietary
preferences that goes well beyond the standard risotto and pasta
offerings. Read full review here.

Evoe
Chef Kevin Gibson sure loves his pig, but typically about
half of the dishes on the ever-changing chalkboard menu at his Hawthorne
small-plates bar are all about the vegetables. Well, the vegetables and
the cheese. Gibson and company mine adjoining grocery store Pastaworks'
treasure chest of a cheese case to accent their super seasonal dishes
and build one killer cheese board. Read full review here.

Olympic Provisions
Great vegetarian in a charcuterie deli?
Believe it. The eastside location usually has four to five beautifully
composed vegetable plates—I've seen dedicated omnivores swoon over the
farro salad—while the newer westside branch makes some of the best
vegetarian sandwiches in the city. Read full review here.

Look past the oxtail croquettes, bacon-wrapped dates and
That Burger, and you'll find several meals' worth of carcass-free
cuisine at John Gorham's nuevo-tapas joint. As of this writing, the menu
contained no fewer than 23 vegetarian plates, and that didn't include
dessert. Now you just have to find a seat. Read full review here.
