CONSUMER WHORE: Weekend O' Wares

There is a packed, stylish weekend upon us. We've got a host of local boutique openings, craft fairs and trunk shows to look forward to, plus a slew of incoming summer wares—perfect for June, lovely June.

Start off the weekend right with some First Friday action. The ladies of Denwave(811 E Burnside St., 233-3189) have been rockin' out in their studios and have a lot to show for it.

Find airy linen and silk dresses designed by Genevieve Dellinger along with a return appearance of her hit Bike Dress. Expect a lot of unisex, soft cotton rope accessories to accent thy neck from Hazel Cox—plus a limited run of her hammered wishbones and lighting bolts. For dudes, new arrivals from Adam Arnold include crisp men's summer shirts in navy/gray and yellow pinstripe, offering an ultra dapper alternative to ratty wife beaters (an unfortunate summer staple for some).

From Denwave, make your way over to celebrate the long-awaited opening of Stand-Up Comedy (811 E Burnside Ste 119, 233-3382. www.shopstandingup.us,) behind Bombshell Vintage and get your first fix of its offerings. Be sure to check out designs by Brooklyn-based jewelry designer Bing Bang, and spry, romantic urban wear by Rachel Comey—among other eccentricities. 6pm-9pm BBQ and entertainment.

Saturday brings a Grand Opening Party at the newly opened Amalee Boutique (909 N. Beech St., Suite A. amaleeboutique.com). Many sweet treats will be provided, including St. Cupcakes and their first sale on select designs.

But even more so, a trunk show by local designer Gretchen Jones will showcase a whimsical set of romantic summer dresses and separates. 6pm-9pm.

Sunday rounds out the weekend's fashion festivities with a DIY craft fair at the unbelievably cool East Burnside hotspot, Rontom (600 E. Burnside). Indoor and outdoor displays from 40 juried members of the local online artist's community, lov.li, will be a great addition to other craft fairs in town. Food, cocktails, music, how-to demos raffles and "make-and-take" crafts will all be available on site. Visit lov.li for more details. 11am-4pm.
