Photo Review: Yacht in Berlin, Thursday Aug. 4

I am pretty sure LocalCut is the only Portland music blog that can claim to have a photo correspondent in Europe. Thanks to Nilina for taking these shots. About them, she says:

How has YACHT spent its summer vacation? After releasing a new album in June, the the band is now nearing the end of a packed-out, month-long European tour. Last night, the ever-multiplying group touched down in Berlin, supporting Washed Out at the venue Festaal Kreuzberg. Very much led by frontwoman Claire L. Evans, the quintet ran through a dynamic set of material drawn mostly from latest disc Shangri-La and its DFA debut See Mystery Lights. Highlights included "Paradise Engineering," "Tripped and Fell in Love" (which was accessorized by a fog machine and two shimmering disco balls) and set closer "Psychic City." As far as I know, LC is the only music blog in town with a roving European photo correspondent. Thanks to Nilina Mason-Campbell for thinking of us. -Ed.
