Bar King, One of Portland’s Most Anticipated Restaurants of 2020, Is Calling It Quits After Less Than a Year

Bar King—one of 2020’s most anticipated restaurants—had the unfortunate distinction of opening and then closing in less than a week because of the pandemic. Now it will become known as yet another establishment that had to shut its doors permanently as the global health crisis drags on. Owners Shaun and Jamie King have already closed the restaurant, located in the old auto shop space formerly occupied by Ken Forkish’s Trifecta, as first reported by Eater PDX. The Bakery, which sells pastries made by Katherine Benvenuti, will operate via takeout and delivery through Jan. 2. The Kings shared the news with their fans on social media.
