All Ages Southeast Portland Music Venue the Hawthorne Theatre Is Up for Auction

This has been a difficult year for all arts venues, but especially the Hawthorne Theatre. In early March, concert promoter and Hawthorne Theatre owner Mike Thrasher died at the age of 48.

Longtime Portland Music Promoter Mike Thrasher Has Died

Mike Thrasher, the concert promoter who helped establish Portland as a touring destination for underground punk, metal and rap acts, has died, according to multiple social media reports. He was 48 years old.

The building housing the Hawthorne Theatre music venue has sold to California investors for $3 million, the Portland Business Journal reported today. The sale went through in February.
