The Portland Beer Scene Is Continuing to Expand in 2021

After a year when most everybody feared Portland’s acclaimed beer industry would crumble under the burden of COVID-19 restrictions and below-normal sales, perhaps the last thing you would expect to happen next is a growth spurt.

Breakside Is One of Several Breweries Moving Forward With New Openings in 2021

As we head into the new year with more reasons to feel hopeful, some local brewers are boosting our optimism, and it’s not just because they’re still around. A number are moving forward with expansions despite the fact that they still face COVID-19 serving restrictions. Breakside Brewery is among those with the most ambitious projects, as The New School first reported. The Dekum-born brand is branching out to the suburbs and opening sites in Beaverton and Lake Oswego. It will also serve as the core beer bar at a developing food hall on Southeast 82nd Avenue.

As of November, bottles of Stickmen’s F-Bomb IPA and Buona Mattina coffee porter have begun to show up in area New Seasons.
