Cheap Eats 2005

The dynamic duo of the veg-friendly Chef to Go cart, George Black and David Stowell, have moved into their own cafe space, and it's worth a visit. First, the new space is spanking-new and airy. Second, the food is great. All of your old favorites--roasted eggplant sandwich, Tofurky melt and the grilled vegan chicken Caesar--are here, as are the hearty, murder-free muffins and pastries. For lunch, try the Veganopolis Reuben with corned seitan, which puts Paradox's great Reuben on notice that there's now competition in town. Veganopolis also offers a Saturday buffet breakfast worth grabbing, served by the pound at $6.95. (SS)
