This Associated Press story on Portland developer Bob Naito's battle with environmentalists over a wakeboarding park he wants to build in Hood River is a good read on an under-the-radar political fight.
So maybe the bit about the "battle for the soul of Hood River" is a little hyperbolic. That's OK.
More problematic is the fact that the story omits a crucial point—wakeboarding is the most fun ever.
