Many, many homebrewers started with equipment from F. H. Steinbart, and even a number of Portland breweries that went on to become behemoths in the industry got their original carboys and airlocks here. The century-plus-old brewery store still smells of malt and yeast, and will surely launch the careers of many more brewers in years to come.
