Get Ready to Slip and Slurp: Willamette Week’s Ramen + Whisky Returns In January

Six of Portland’s best ramen chefs will be in attendance, serving up noodles for the masses alongside one specialty whisky cocktail.

Noodles and whisky might just be the new burger and beer.

It's hardly a shotgun marriage—traditional Japanese ramen is the great equalizer of taste buds, and Japanese whisky consistently produces high-quality brews, with water sourced from Mt. Fuji snow melt and a sharp focus on artisanal craftsmanship.

Willamette Week and Fubonn invite you to try the knockout pairing for yourself with the return of Ramen+Whisky, a one-day event where sipping and slurping is mandatory. It happens January 19, 2020, at Leftbank Annex.

Six of Portland's best ramen chefs will be in attendance, serving up noodles for the masses alongside one specialty whisky cocktail.

Japanese whisky might not get the name recognition of your Kentucky bourbon and Irish Jameson—maybe not even your whisky-adjacent Fireball—but over the past decade, the country has proved itself a rising star in the whisky world.

Additional whisky samples will be available from Osaka-based Beam Suntory, Sapporo, SakeOne and Kyla Kombucha.
