Someone Took a Car for a Joyride on the Holman Dock Early Yesterday Morning

What would compel someone to do this? Quarantine brain? A wrong turn looking for the street races?

As the very popular saying goes, it's always dock o'clock somewhere.

The Holman Dock, better known simply as The Dock, located on the east side of the Willamette River just south of the Hawthorne Bridge, is one of chillest summer hang spots in town.

Driving a car on it? Decidedly un-chill.

That didn't stop someone from doing it, though.

At 1:38 am on April 21, police responded to a call from a pedestrian crossing the nearby Hawthorne Bridge alerting them that a car was sitting on the dock. Officers contacted the registered owner at the scene, according to a Portland Police Bureau spokesperson, but it was not clear if the car was stolen or not.

No additional information is available, police say.

Reddit user TigerUppercutting, however, shared a photo of the incident (seen above), writing that it was taken around 4:30 am.

What compelled someone to do this? Quarantine brain? Was there something else clouding their thinking? Maybe they made a wrong turn looking for the street races.

Even better question: How the hell did they navigate a car all the way to the end of a very narrow dock?

We don't know, but we will certainly update this post when we learn more.

Meanwhile, please slow down.
