Thanks to the two feet of snow that dropped on Mt. Hood last night, Skibowl is opening Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 3-10pm for the Lower Bowl and Multorpor Chairlifts for the only sport cooler than cosmic bowling: night skiing.
"This is the biggest storm we have seen in two years," says Mountain Manager John Vermaas in a press release. "The grooming crew is out compacting the snow on the ski runs so we have a good base to carry us through the entire season."
The Parking Lot Conveyor lift, Ski School lessons, ski and snowboard rental and all retail outlets and restaurants will be open as well. The Upper Bowl Chairlift will open at 3pm on Thursday. All chairlifts will be open on Saturday.
If you'd rather get a beer and lay on a rubber tube, the Snow Tube & Adventure Park is open from 10am-4pm Friday through Sunday, with cosmic tubing from 5-11pm, Friday and Saturday. Extended holiday hours will begin on Dec. 21.
And don't forget that Meadows is already open. Why are you still at your desk?
