Skip to main content[BAKERY/CAFE] After four years of distributing their wholesale baked goods to businesses like Whole Foods and New Seasons, the folks at Dovetail finally opened up a bite-size bakery and cafe on the east end of Alberta's busy retail strip this past March. With just enough room for a couple tables, a counter and a display case showing off the day's selections (fat cinnamon rolls, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and plate-size snickerdoodles shone under warm lights on a recent visit), things can get a little snug. Look past the display case and friendly, tattooed cashier into the huge glistening kitchen, three times the size of Dovetail's storefront, and you'll know where these folks' priorities lie. Try showing up early, 'cause the pickings get slim after lunchtime.
