Dog lovers, breathe easy: Local cheesemongers Foster & Dobbs (2518 NE 15th Ave., 284-1157, fosteranddobbs.com) are doin' their part to keep local pups melamine-free. Owners Luan Schooler and Tim Wilson recently partnered with local biz Magic Snacks to create organic, grain-free dog biscuits that feature the shop's cheese scraps, from farmhouse cheddar to Oregon's Juniper Grove goat cheese, depending on the batch ($4 for a 5 ounce bag). We'll say it: lucky dogs.
We've finally heard word that upscale Italian house Pinocchio's, located downtown right across the street from the Wednesday Farmers Market, will open Thursday, May 3, with Nelia Serapion, most recently the senior sous chef at the Heathman, in the kitchen. Visit the restaurant's bizarro Mona Lisa-with-a-woody website pinocchiobarandrestaurant.com for details.
