A Coven of Witches Paddle Boarded Down the Willamette River This Weekend

About 30 members of a local paddle boarding Facebook group Stand Up Portland donned pointy hats, slathered on green makeup and took to the water.

Of all the strange sights that come out of Portland on a near-daily basis, a coven of witches paddle boarding the river ranks pretty low. After all, this is the same city where you can attend pagan potlucks in the park.

But, y'know, 'tis the season.

On Sunday, about 30 members of the local paddle boarding Facebook group Stand Up Portland donned pointy hats, slathered on green makeup and took to the Willamette. And naturally, local news stations from New York to Connecticut to the BB friggin' C couldn't help but engage with some of that sweet, sweet Halloween content. Obviously, we understand.
