Sunday-morning crowds are a telltale sign of great comfort food. At Vita Cafe, the crowds indulge regardless of hangover, food allergies or dietary habits. With sizable and savory American breakfasts, eclectic entrees and a fantastic deal menu on Wednesdays ($2 drinks 5 pm-close; five entrees at $5), Vita also gets karmic kudos for choosing local, organic and sustainable products whenever possible. Kids eat for $1 from 5 to 7 pm every day, and breakfast aficionados will revel in one of Vita’s customizable scrambles ($8). (SJ)
