Bar Guide 2015: Chopsticks Express II

2651 E Burnside St., 234-6171, chopstickskaraoke.com. 2 pm-2:30 am Monday-Friday, 5 pm-2:30 am Saturday-Sunday.

Chopsticks Express II's Burnside tenure as Portland's most reliable hall of raucous, stiff-drinked, often surprisingly talented (and occasionally surprisingly awful) karaoke is almost over. As its 20-year lease ends, it's getting kicked out for purposes as yet unannounced. It's not over. Owner David Chow will move up to Northeast 31st Avenue and Sandy Boulevard sometime this summer, before the August deadline. But in the meantime, expect a series of parties closing the place out, amid loyal customers whose photographs provide the little karaoke dive's most prominent decoration: They line the walls, from front to back and around the corner. "Every holiday we have from now on is our last holiday," Chow says. "Last Halloween was the last Halloween at Chopsticks."

Entertainment: Karaoke, pool, video poker.
