PRITCH-SLAPPED WITH A PINK SLIP!
Not that this was entirely unexpected, but someone is really going to have to explain the timing of Blazers General Manager Kevin Pritchard to me. Hell, someone is going to have to explain the decision to me, too (until then I'm going to chalk it up to Paul Allen really feeling the whole "Mo Money Mo Problems" thing) I know if I got fired for some bullshit, I'd go out kicking and screaming...or drafting really terrible players, perhaps. Anyway, the O's Jason Quick has the story
. So what do you think? Is this the beginning of a new slide for Trail Blazer basketball, or some necessary post-Oden housecleaning? Paul Allen isn't answering my calls...
The NBA Draft is starting now on ESPN, with the Wizards on the clock. Pritchard, apparently, is still a Blazer until after the draft. What a world.
UPDATE: Well, kind of an update. I just noticed that the comments on Oregonlive and Blazersedge.com are almost unilaterally unfavorable. Does anyone like this move? Does it make sense to anyone but Paul Allen? I've heard a few reporters talk smack about Pritchard, but it's usually because he's hard to get information from—the guy has been pretty damn good at doing his job these past few years.
