Want to Eat Dinner at Chris Dudley's House?

On election night, Republican gubernatorial nominee Chris Dudley mused about inviting lawmakers over for a post-election barbecue.

Now, Dudley has decided to widen the circle—to anybody who's got $5,000 (per couple) or $1,000 per person (reception only). Dudley is inviting voters to join "The Oregon Comeback," ironically the same motto that former Gov. Neil Goldschmidt, a Democrat, used in his successful 1986 campaign. Here is Dudley's invitation to come on over to his Lake Oswego home:
Dear Friends,

It was the support of Oregonians across our state who want to set a new course for Oregon that ensured our victory in the primary election. Now, the hard work really begins. And if you want to make Oregon's Comeback a reality, then I hope you will join us today.

Please accept this personal invitation from me and my wife, Chris, to join us on June 23rd for a fantastic evening with friends at our home in Lake Oswego.

Join Oregon's Comeback – Evening Reception and Dinner

Wednesday, June 23rd

6:30 PM Evening Reception - $1000 per person

5:30 PM Dinner - $5000 per couple

More than names on the ballot in this election, Oregon's future is on the ballot. Today, it seems that Oregon ranks 43rd or worse in everything from job growth to the quality of our schools. And, for too long, the politicians in Salem have ignored the very thing that makes our quality of life possible -- jobs and a growing economy.

It's time for a new direction, and new leadership and I need you on our team. As Governor, I'll cut taxes to help Oregon businesses create Oregon jobs, balance the state budget by controlling spending and saving for a rainy day first, end the outdated regulation of our colleges and universities so they can innovate and grow, and knock down the roadblocks standing in the way of reform and better schools.

While Governor Kitzhaber has said Oregon is “ungovernable”, if there is only one thing you need to remember about me, it is this: As your Governor, I will never throw in the towel... and I will never give up on Oregon…because I know you won't either.

Together, Oregon won't be ungovernable; we'll be unstoppable!

We hope you'll join us on June 23rd!
