So maybe you've been meaning to see
that movie with the drowning polar bears, but you're finding the supersized Al Gore isn't so easy on the eyes. How about
Oregon Secretary of State Bill Bradbury's smiling half-dome instead? Now's your chance, since Bradbury will be giving Gore's slide show at
7 pm tonight (Thursday, April 5) at PCC-Sylvania.
Bradbury was one of the first 50 climate warriors Gore trained personally last fall to deliver the slide show at the core of
An Inconvenient Truth, and Bradbury's making the rounds with the ex-veep's presentation and his own perspective on Oregon's role in tackling global warming.
Next stop: Portland Community College-Sylvania Campus, 12000 SW 49th Ave. Event free, parking free after 6:30. For more info on the Gore-Bradbury warm offensive, go to
theclimateproject.org.
OK, so: First "losing" 2000 presidential candidate Gore snags an Oscar for his movie, then
?losing? presidential candidate John Kerry shows up at the Bagdad flogging his own enviro treatise, and now Bradbury, who unsuccessfully challenged Sen. Gordon Smith (R-Ore.) in 2002, takes Oregon into the A/V club's green zone.
Who will we see next? My money's on 1988 presidential also-ran
Michael Dukakis, trying out the next generation of biodiesel tanks.
