Wend Issue Launch Party

While there's no indication that summer will arrive for Portland this year, local eco-outdoors magazine Wend is getting a head start on the season change with a celebration of its newest issue. The Wend Issue Launch Party this Saturday will usher in the next generation of the magazine's design, unveiling the summer issue's polished new makeover.

Wend continues to showcase the best in outdoor living, with articles and splashy photos providing a window into the lives of modern explorers embarking on real, epic journeys. In a week of gloomy downpours, Wend's suggestion that we find out what lies “beyond adventure” might not actually take root—for me, this week's adventure might just be a game of Scrabble, and “beyond adventure” might mean throwing Settlers of Catan into the mix.

But friends of Wend will definitely want to get outside on Saturday and party like it's summer at Wend headquarters. The beer and wine will flow freely, but bring your own reusable cup and a donation for the Northwest Trail Alliance.

The Wend Launch party takes place at 2001 NW 19^th #103B. 7 pm Saturday, June 5.
