UK lads the Cribs are set to release a special limited-region boxset in Yorkshire, Lancashire and...Portland?!?.
Jackpot Records will exclusively stock a limited run of "The Roses Edition" of the band's third album, Ignore the Ignorant, when it's released on September 7th. Housed in a fancy black box, the edition includes a copy of the album, a "Making Of" documentary DVD, and an audio version of the Cribs' Manchester Ritz shows.
But what's with the roses theme? Well, most of the band hail from Yorkshire, historically represented by the red rose (handy fact file below if you're into history). The white rose of Lancashire is for new guitarist Johnny Marr (formerly of the Smiths). And now that singer and bassist Gary Jarman lives in Portland, a pink rose handily completes the set. Top marks for spotting that link Mr Marketing.
Here's the band's latest killer single "Cheat on Me" and an oldie, "Men's Needs."
