It appears to be video day this lovely Monday. Earlier today Loch Lomond rolled out a clip for “Blue Lead Fences”
and now Talkdemonic is giving us a sneak peek at its forthcoming promo for the track "Duality of Deathening" by offering three stills from the video. While the duo's LP Eyes at Half Mast
(from which the tune hails) dropped on September 16th, this is the first video to be released in conjunction with it.
Directed by Orie Weeks, the promo appears to be highly conceptual. The press release sent out this afternoon describes the main concept of a "Jovial robot who tries to learn about being human through a book called Understanding Man. He gets a quick lesson in biology, chemistry and in Heaven vs. Hell." Weeks appears to have a penchant for super-imposing band members into fantastical scenes much like what he did with Blitzen Trapper in the clip he directed for the group's song "Wild Mountain Nation." Looking at these stills from Talkdemonic's video, I have to fight the urge to tear through Ace Hardware on a massive shopping spree, if not to build myself faux robot arms ala the Kevin O'Connor channeling bot, then to build a makeshift time machine to take me back to Franz Ferdinand's 2004 video romp for "This Fire"
which these stills remind me.
Talkdemonic's video for "Duality of Deathening" will be available in all its motion picture glory later this week. Until then, we can only speculate how cool it might be.
