Likely due to an online hubbub over unfair ticket sales for Sleater-Kinney's final show at the Crystal Ballroom on Aug. 11, the group announced this afternoon that it has added a second show, set for Aug. 12. The Crystal Ballroom also announced that it will be releasing 250 more tickets for the Aug. 11 show. The tickets will go on sale July 15 and the folks at the Crystal Ballroom have taken precautions to help keep scalpers from getting their grubby hands on all of them. Here's Crystal Ballroom marketing director, Mike Walker, with the skinny:
At 12 pm PST on Saturday, July 15th, the 250 remaining tickets for 8/11 and the first 500 tickets for 8/12 will be available only to walk up customers at the Crystal Ballroom box office.
At 1 pm PST tickets will become available through Ticketmaster outlets, on-line, and via telephone. The Crystal Ballroom box office will continue to sell tickets after 1 pm until they are sold out.
All ticket sales are limited to two per customer.
Rejoice Portland. The S-K thunder will continue for another day. Of course this means that people who bought tickets to the Aug. 11 show thinking it would be the band's last show ever will now be seeing the second-to-last show ever. Local Cut
urges those people to "suck it up."
