City Hall: Chief of Staff's Promotion Comes with Big Raise

Tom Miller, Mayor Sam Adams' new pick to replace Sue Keil as the director of the Portland Bureau of Transportation, will get a hefty raise this month along with a new job title. As the mayor's chief of staff, Miller earned just under $100,000 in 2010.

Today the Bureau of Human Resources reports Miller will earn $150,000 as the new transportation director under Adams. That's $30,000 more than the mayor himself earns.
