When the 112th Congress began this week, we did a quickie
non-wonk guide of three tidbits to know about lawmakers from
Oregon and
Washington that you could use if pressed at a party that wasn't focused on the
"important" stuff.
Here's a fourth: This Congress is less than one week old and already the
National Republican Congressional Committee has U.S. Rep.
David Wu (D-Ore.) in its political crosshairs.
Since Wednesday, we've received one press release a day from the NRCC plugging Wu's name into its template of vulnerable Democrats to criticize him for votes like this
one.
Look, WW has
never been a huge Wu fan (though we give the seven-term rep some
credit).
But it is worth adding this fourth tidbit just as an example how even in the first week of 2011, the focus is already on the 2012 election. Certainly seems like Wu is
aware of it.
