What better way to kill a few minutes if you're stuck at work this Christmas Eve than to head over to
ORESTAR and check the state campaign finance website for who's been getting campaign donations Christmas week?
Today's visit turns up Portland City Commissioner Nick Fish, who's up for re-election in 2010, collecting some significant donations for his
campaign.
Among the $1,000 donors of note: The
Zidell Companies, which has been in the news lately for its
proposed cleanup along the Willamette; and hotelier
Gordon Sondland. who
helped Fish and the Washington Park Summer Festival earlier this year.
On Fish's list of $500 contributors recorded this week:
Barry Schlesinger, who's got a big parking contract
coming up at City Hall; the political action committee for former state Treasurer
Randall Edwards; and
Harsch Investment Properties, owned by Harold, Arlene and Jordan Schnitzer.
