Name: Chris Bartz, pictured with Kelly (his friend's dog)
Age: 36
Occupation: Baker; unemployed since January when he was laid off from Beaverton Bakery, where he worked for three years
Lives: Northwest Portland
Status at Occupy Portland: He's been there 5 days and staying indefinitely
Favorite political thinker: Barack Obama, although he feels let down because “he made a lot of promises that weren’t followed through.”
Bartz says he's surviving during Occupy Portland by eating at the outdoor kitchen set up in Chapman Square. He also works in the kitchen and says he's contributed $100 to help support Occupy Portland. The money, he says, has come out of his unemployment check.
Bartz says he's grown frustrated in his job hunt. “I’ve applied at every bakery from Tillamook to Salem and I’m still out of work. ”
