No doubt you were sitting around, in between recovering from PDX Pop Now and preparing for Pickathon this weekend (and MusicfestNW two weeks after that), and thinking, "Geez, I wish Portland had another music festival I could attend."
Well, you're in luck: Pabst Brewing has announced the lineup for Project Pabst, a three-night, multi-venue event, featuring two big outdoor concerts and several more shows spread out at venues across the city.
The headliners for those outdoor shows, taking place at Zidell Yards near the Ross Island Bridge, are Modest Mouse and Tears for Fears. Other acts include Wu-Tang's GZA performing his classic album Liquid Swords, Violent Femmes, Rocket from the Crypt, Phosphorescent, Shabazz Palaces and Portland's own Red Fang, Thermals, Guantanamo Baywatch and Grandparents. The club shows, which feature Guided By Voices, Menomena, Surfer Blood, High on Fire and reunited Canadian indie rockers Constantines, are scheduled for Wonder and Crystal ballrooms, Mississippi Studios, Dante's and Ash Street Saloon. If it seems like the festival is targeting a bit of an older audience with those artists, well, it is being put on by a beer company. Along those lines, the whole shebang is 21-plus.
