The Mural On Northeast Broadway Will Stay

Muralist Heidi Schultz and Kudzai Nioni, who is from Zimbabwe and starting at OES in the fall.

Last week, we told you about the threat facing the really cool mural at 424 NE Broadway.

Today, we're happy to report that it looks like the colorful 13-x-27-foot mural greeting westbound commuters is finally safe. Talk Mobile, a concept store for T-Mobile, will rent the space and keep the “Hope is Vital: It Takes a Planet to Save a Village' mural intact.

Store owner Shehbaz Chaudry had to negotiate with T-Mobile to have its signage co-exist with the existing artwork. Landlord Samantha Waltz is elated that a resoultion was reached, saying "The mural stays [and] we have a commited tenant."

Talk Mobile hopes to move in by Nov. 1
