Republican
Jim Huffman unveiled the first TV ad today of his challenge to U.S. Sen.
Ron Wyden (D-Ore.)
Huffman's 30-second ad in the Nov. 2 general election comes about one month after the better-financed Wyden went on TV with his
first ad. And befitting the fact that Huffman is a challenger who trails in the polls, Huffman goes right on the attack without taking a moment to introduce himself and his background to voters.
Instead, Huffman—a Lewis & Clark law professor—blames Wyden for all that ails the
Oregon economy (unemployment higher than the national average) and national economy (the soaring federal debt).
One thing is common to the new Huffman ad and the older Wyden ad—neither candidate tells voters their party affiliation.
