Remember when clean, alternative energies for the future were a fairly big concern, back before the current economic deathmatch began and clean energy opponents seized on the freefall to say now's not the time to change our approach?
The nonprofit Focus the Nation
is coming to Portland to remind you that the time is now for cleaner energy.
Founded in 1999 by Portland's own Green House Network,
Focus the Nation is embarking on a nationwide series of Town Hall style meetings to discuss how local government can address climate change and alternative energies.
This Friday, April 17, Focus the Nation will be in Portland at Hoffman Hall on the PSU campus to unveil their climate action plan. The event begins at 6 pm, and will feature U.S. Rep. Earl Blumenauer
(D-Ore.) as a speaker, along with state Reps. Jules Bailey
and Ben Cannon
,(both D-Portland); Mayor Sam Adams
, and Multnomah County Commissioner Jeff Cogen
. The event is open to everyone.
