Soccer Fans Set For Saturday Saunter

soccer rallySaturday's forecast looks nice, not that a monsoon would matter to Portland soccer fans as they organize a rally to bring Major League Soccer to Portland.

According to a post on a Soccer City message board, the march to City Hall is an attempt to show community support in bringing MLS to Portland, an idea being pressed by Merritt Paulson, owner of the minor-league Timbers soccer team and Beavers baseball team.

As far as Saturday's rally, here's what you need to know:

WHEN: Saturday, 2/28

1:30pm: Meet at the Salmon Street Fountain

2:00pm: March to City Hall

2:30pm: Rally in front of City Hall (4th Ave. Entrance)

WHERE:

Salmon Street Fountain: The Salmon Street Springs Fountain is located at Salmon Street and Front Ave., in Waterfront Park, near the Portland Visitor's Center.

City Hall: 1221 SW 4th Avenue.

BRING:

Friends and Family: In order to help our cause, we need a crowd at this family friendly event! Dogs are welcome too!

MLS to Portland Signs & Flags: Let's make sure people know exactly what we are advocating!

The Noise: Drums, horns, and your voice!
