Here's a contrary view of Sean Penn's starring role in Gus Van Sant's Milk.

The upshot of the criticism is that Penn's recent piece in The Nation glossed over the history of Castro (Fidel, of course — not the district in San Francisco) when it comes to gays.

Seems like a stretch to conclude that Penn is no friend to gays because his piece doesn't mention that history. Your thoughts after reading it and watching Penn discuss his cover story.
