If you've ever picked up a copy of
Picaresque and wondered who did the artwork, then LocalCut has the show for you. The art for all the Decemberists albums (and even Colin Meloy's solo joints) was drawn by his main squeeze, Carson Ellis, and the Helzer Gallery on the PCC campus at Rock Creek is showing a small exhibition of her work from March 3-28. The grand opening, with an introduction from Ellis herself, is set for Friday, March 7 from 3-6 pm, giving plenty of time for mad Decemberists fans to come up with questions like “what would Colin look like if he really had the Morrissey do?”
