Krauski's Brewskis

328 N Main Ave., Gresham, 328-8474, oregonshoppyplace.com. 11 am-9 pm Monday-Thursday, 11 am-10 pm Friday, 9 am-6 pm Sunday.

The Hoppy Brewer is downtown Gresham's one-stop BeerWorld. It's a bottle shop, homebrew shop, and 28-tap beer and cider room, and also crafts its own beer, by way of a large and licensed homebrew system. A quaint, suburban affair, complete with beer patio and order-in food from the burger joint next door, the shop featured two taps of the house-made Krauski's Brewskis at the time of our visit: a dark and somewhat acidic winter warmer called Winter's Splendor, and a more sessionable Oktoberfest-inspired brew called Alpenfest, which tasted a bit like apple cider. Both were wanting, but that's the best thing about this place: With another 26 taps and more than 200 bottles to choose from, there's plenty of room for error.

Drink This: Given the choice, we'd wait to visit until one of the brewery's more-acclaimed IPAs is on tap.
