Cool Oregon Mom Arrested for Towing Kids’ Plastic Wagon Behind Her Ford Taurus

Oops.

(Springfield Police Department)

In Springfield, Oregon, a pretty boring city whose most exciting landmark is a newly-rebranded mall, a mother was arrested today for trying to make summer more fun.

Police arrested 27-year-old Alana Donahue last Friday evening, after she towed her two-year-old daughter, five-year-old son and eight-year-old nephew in their plastic wagon behind her Ford Taurus, as reported by the Register-Guard.

According to reports, Donahue was driving five miles per hour and was not intoxicated. She apparently told police she "didn't understand what the problem was because she was only driving 5 mph and she just wanted to show the kids a good time."

Donahue was driving the children around a roundabout when traffic began to build. Police say several drivers confronted Donahue before she put the wagon back in her car. According to police reports, she apparently told one driver to "be an adult about it."

Donahue and the children were walking away when police caught up to them. She now faces three charges of Reckless Endangering.
