Pink Martini Previews New Album at Mission Theater Next Week

Got $90 to spare? You can hear the band's ninth record played in full before it's recorded.

Beloved Portland lounge-pop institution Pink Martini are preparing to record the ninth studio album of their 20-year career. Before they do so, the band wants to share those new songs with their hometown.

On April 18-19, Pink Martini will preview the upcoming record with two shows at the Mission Theater. It's an intimate venue for the group, who can easily sell out Edgefield and the Schnitz at this point.

The setlist will contain original tunes and arrangements of songs from around the world. Also, leader Thomas Lauderdale "will be sure to share stories about the genesis of the originals and the tales behind his musical discoveries," according to the press release.

Tickets are still available for the, uh, low, low price of $90 plus. Well, hey, it's a special gig. And you'll get a free copy of the album when it's released in late 2016. Whoo!
