Gov. Kate Brown Orders Bullseye Glass to Cease Using Hazardous Substances

The move comes after air quality indicators signal immediate danger.

Gov. Kate Brown today ordered Portland's Bulleye Glass Co. to immediately stop using several substances it employs to produce colored glass at 3722 SE 21st Ave.

The move comes on the heels of a Portland Mercury story last week that raised new questions about Bullseye's use of chromium compounds, one of the substances Brown ordered Bullseye to stop using today. The Mercury broke the original story of glassmakers' air quality problems in February.
