CAN’T WAIT FOR THE REMATCH
Great work, Jody [“Jody De Simone Wants to Kick Your Ass,” WW, Jan., 07, 2009). Now get ready for the wonderful classic of fighting sports—REMATCH!
There are many superbly skilled female fighters out there. They just don’t get much of an opportunity to compete in public. Women like Gina Carano are changing that. Dana White of the UFC has recently changed his staunch opinion against female fights, saying he will consider promoting them in the future.
Although Jody’s experience is quite limited, some people do possess natural talent that allows them to do things in weeks that take years for others. It will be fun to see how Jody’s career progresses.

This article was written really well. I love the fact that the writer included a lot of facts about MMA but did it in a way that captured a real-time story too. Wow, this fight was intense. I think I’ve found a new interest. Perhaps I’ll spend a bit more time watching female MMA now. Loved the story.

Brain-dead “entertainment” for a brain-dead culture. But first...let’s set the scene that plays out all over the Willamette Valley. You get in the car and make a run to Winco and Costco...load up on chips, dips, thinly sliced pepperoni, the usual crap. You come home and strategically position yourself in the middle of your City Liquidators Naugahyde couch and stare into the abyss of your new, practically free Bowflex 56-inch LCD Digital Interactive Surround Sound System. You turn on the fight. You sit there. Now look at yourself. You are doing nothing...your diaphragm sucks up and down, your heart rate elevates. You pick a chip, scoop some dip and target your mouth. Bullseye. You crunch it up...you crunch your taco chip...you crunch it up. Now...that’s entertainment.

Kicking ass seems to be an American fantasy. Everybody from the president on down is gonna kick someone’s ass. Which is odd because it appears that America is the one getting its ass kicked the hardest!
