IT CAN’T BE! In a piece of earth-shaking investigative reporting, The Oregonian revealed in its Sunday edition that Portland has “an overwhelming lack of diversity” and is “startlingly white.”

SEPARATE BUT EQUAL? State and city officials have proposed building a 10-foot wrought-iron fence down the center of Northeast 82nd Avenue at Jonesmore Street.

STRAIGHT OUTTA LENTS: East Portland’s much-publicized “gang war” between the Bloods-affiliated Unthank Park Hustlers and the city’s assorted Crips continued Jan. 15 with an attempted drive-by shooting on Southeast Holgate Boulevard.

IN OTHER GANG-WAR NEWS: After months of haggling, New Seasons Markets agreed to hand over some of the information requested by Whole Foods for the latter’s antitrust dispute with the Federal Trade Commission.

SÍ, SE PUEDE: Rudy Fernandez, Blazers guard and smoldering object of desire, has been chosen to participate in the NBA All-Star Game slam-dunk contest.
