GIVING US OLD FUCKERS A BAD NAME

I am writing as a member of OPWANC (Old People Who Are Not Coots) to complain about last week’s letter to the editor.

It’s hard for me to believe that a person who is old enough to have been reading you since 1974 is offended by the “f word” (a.k.a., fuck) so strongly that he must write in. I felt I had to reply to defend those of us who did not suddenly lose our minds or have our Self-righteousness Switch thrown when we turned 40. Apparently, Mr. Probandt is shocked—shocked!—to discover that a four-letter word is in common usage? Seriously, he’s giving all us old fuckers a bad name.

Why is nobody talking about Acupuncture? I am an Acupuncturist and I treat about 700 patients a year. I see all sorts of health problems and my rate of success is very high. The medicine has been tested and refined for thousands of years by billions of people. Yet, no one is even talking about it in the US. Including Obama. Shouldn't Acupuncture be the first place people go when there sick? The natural route? Acupuncture first could keep 70% of Americans from paying for an MD visit, and it can keep millions of Americans off pharmaceutical drugs. We have it backwards right now. Im the last resort, instead of the first resort. Not to mention the cost. I am relatively extremely inexpensive compared to Western medicine and drugs. And the amount Americans could save with preventative treatments is astronomical. It makes sense. The rest of the world has integrated Chinese and American medicine. Hopefully, without the powerful lobbiests dictating what Americans can have access to, some day Acupuncture can save American Healthcare. -Wade McCulloch L. Ac The Qi Spot Acupuncture Clinic
