Unless you’ve been living under a rock with your eyes closed and your fingers in your ears, you know Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson and Billy Mays all died last week. As recently as 10 years ago, public eulogizing for such entertainment-industry heavyweights might have been done in the form of a soft-focus TV retrospective, or a tasteful photo spread in Time magazine. However, now that the Web and explosion of social media have more or less eradicated any pretense of tact and respect, we present to you:

BIZZARE CELEBRITY TRIBUTES OF THE INTERNET

Ed McMahon:
Despite the fact McMahon did not, in fact, work for Publishers Clearing House (he was actually with rival American Family Enterprises), his mistaken association is a boon for cartoonists:

Farrah Fawcett:
While most sites are simply content to feature The Poster, this Farrah enthusiast shares what appears to be every item ever manufactured with Farrah’s likeness, including a bottle of nakesake shampoo:

Michael Jackson
No shortage of jokes and offensive cartoons here, but we like this compendium of strange MJ-inspired street art:

Billy Mays
The pitchman best known for OxiClean and Orange Glo is admittedly an easy target; this collection provides a representative—albeit tasteless—sample:

Re: “Ron Wyden”

If 72% of Americans call for a public health plan, why not give us what we want? The inefficiency of the political left is due to the fragmentation of ideas and policies of our representatives. Wyden’s plan is an example of this. He contradicts not only what the public desires but also what our popular president would like to see. A public plan option would meet the two demands that Senator Wyden lays out: It would incentivize keeping us healthy over paying doctors for keeping us sick. And it would drive down out-of-pocket costs. Why can’t our lefty representatives come together and finally pass a bill to reform our health care system? At that, why not go with the plan that Americans are telling them that they want? Give us reform. Give us a public plan that can meet our needs.
