Devil May Care

Heavy-metal satire is not a genre that seems to demand a second entry after This Is Spinal Tap, but no matter: Here is Born Again Sage, a black mass of jokes about men who live for "drawing pictures of wizards and dragons." The mooncalf of Nick Wells (under the name Phantom Hillbilly, he's the vintage music-video curator who makes up half of Beulahland's Eye Candy shows), the movie gets a preview at a Metalhaus Party (with swordfighting!), and the trailers suggest it is…well, probably the best comedy yet made about Portland heshers who still attend high school. Mission, 7 pm Thursday, Aug. 26.

  1. Best paired with: McMenamins Hammerhead.
  2. Also showing: The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (Academy, Bagdad, Kennedy School, Laurelhurst, Mission).
