Cheap Eats 2005

Known for its kitschy sports pennants and decorative plates, this old-school Pearl District diner serves up hearty fare for a day of gallery-hopping or navel-gazing. Try the Turnpike sandwich ($7.75), a BLT jazzed up with avocado. An old-fashioned milkshake ($3.75) comes in a traditional silver canister and is creamily decadent. At breakfast, it's hard to beat Meg's Veggie Mountain ($7.25), piled high with spuds, spinach, cheese and sour cream. (BL)
