Drink 2010

Seemingly the brainchild of a forward-thinking '70s lumberjack with a master's in interior design, Doug Fir's take on the log cabin is stylish and inviting. The lounge is a balance of comfy leather benches, dimly lit booths and strange sculptures (glass moose head?). The real attraction is the live shows going on downstairs, but it's equally easy to pass a few hours talking by the fireplace or smoking by the fire pit. It's a great date bar, with plenty of dim corners for discreet canoodling.
What to drink: The blackberry cosmo ($7.50) effortlessly balances fruity and alcoholic.
Happy hour: $3 bar food, well drinks and draft beers 3-6 pm daily.
Entertainment: Live music below and a stylish fireplace to gaze into above.
