Cheap Eats 2009

A hole-in-the-wall restaurant and tasty sushi/sashimi offerings are not mutually exclusive at this restaurant in the heart of the Hollywood District, hard off busy Sandy Boulevard. Best bets for the novice diner in Japanese food: either the maki-sushi combination ($13.95) that features spicy tuna rolls, California rolls and shrimp tempura rolls, or the sushi-and-sashimi combo ($15.95) with a salty smattering that includes tuna, yellowtail, salmon and octopus. Less adventurous? Order the soup of chicken and chewy udon noodles ($6.95) or a tender chicken teriyaki ($6.50).
