Cheap Eats 2010

A hidden gem of industrial Southeast, J&M has gained a reputation for its stellar breakfasts. But the airy cafe's revamped lunch menu ups the ante. As during breakfast, the lunchtime chalkboard is loaded with specials such as the recent maple-glazed pork loin sandwich ($8.25), while the permanent menu includes a crispy chicken sandwich ($8.25) so good it induces spontaneous drooling, with fontina cheese, sweet tomato jam and slaw; and the cBLevooT ($8.95), a mutated BLT with poached tomatoes and Canadian bacon. The menu is brief, but its bold flavor combinations more than match J&M's reputation for tastebud stimulation.
