Cheap Eats 2008

Nothing is wasted at Queen of Sheba: You get a good amount of tasty food for not a lot of money, and then you eat your utensils. Spicy Ethiopian stews are ladled over several layers of spongy injera that you can tear off and use to scoop up the goodies. Choose up to three items ($9.50) from Sheba's selection of vegetarian stews, including a tangy mushroom tsebhi kintti-shara, the masala-like atakilt alicha and a comforting misr bamia wet with lentils and okra. Meat dishes also make an appearance: beef, chicken and lamb are prepared with the mild alicha seasoning or fiery berbere. (BP)
